GoPro Connection

Connect your GoPro to ReelCam for wireless media transfer and livestreaming.

Requirements

Bluetooth

Required to discover and control the GoPro. Grant in Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth.

Local Network

Required for WiFi media transfer. Grant when the system dialog appears.

GoPro Quik pairing

Your GoPro must be paired with your phone via the GoPro Quik app at least once.

Connection Steps

Pair with GoPro Quik first

Run through the official GoPro Quik app at least once to pair your GoPro with your phone. This establishes the initial Bluetooth bond.

Turn on your GoPro

Make sure your GoPro is powered on, nearby, and not connected to another app.

Open GoPro Import in ReelCam

Go to the File Library and tap "Import from Camera", then select GoPro.

Tap Scan for GoPro

ReelCam will scan for nearby GoPro cameras via Bluetooth. Tap your camera when it appears.

Wait for WiFi connection

ReelCam will automatically connect to your GoPro's WiFi network to transfer media. This may take a few seconds.

Browse and download

Browse your GoPro's media library and download the files you need. They'll be saved to ReelCam with GPS watermarks applied automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure the GoPro is not connected to another device or app.
  • Disconnect from CarPlay if active. It can block the WiFi switch.
  • If the connection fails, try turning the GoPro off and on again.
  • Retrying usually works. The first connection attempt can occasionally time out.
  • Make sure the GoPro battery is above 20%. Low battery can cause connection issues.
