Reel Time Apps Inc. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the reeltime.app website, the Fish On mobile application, and related tournament management services (collectively, the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Definitions

  • Service — the reeltime.app website, the Fish On mobile application, and related tournament management tools operated by Reel Time Apps Inc.
  • Personal Data — data about a living individual who can be identified from those data.
  • Usage Data — data collected automatically, generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.
  • Cookies — small pieces of data stored on your device.

  • Tournament Organizer — a third-party individual or organization that uses our Service to manage, operate, or administer a fishing tournament.

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
  • Date of birth (when required by a tournament)
  • Cookies and Usage Data

Payment Data

When you make a purchase or register for a tournament through our Service, we collect information necessary to process your payment, including your name, billing address, and payment method details. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Payment processing is handled by PCI DSS-compliant third-party payment processors on behalf of the Tournament Organizer (the merchant of record). We may retain transaction identifiers, amounts, and timestamps for record-keeping and dispute resolution purposes.

Usage Data

We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device. This may include your computer's IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

Location Data

We may use and store information about your location if you give us permission to do so. We use this data to provide features of our Service (such as tournament check-ins, GPS-based scoring, and boundary enforcement), to improve and customize our Service. You can enable or disable location services at any time through your device settings.

SMS and Text Message Data

If you provide your phone number and opt in to receive text messages from us or a Tournament Organizer through our Service, we collect your phone number and records of messages sent and received. See the SMS/Text Messaging section below for full details on consent, frequency, and opt-out.

Push Notification Data

Our mobile applications may send push notifications related to tournament updates, scores, announcements, and other Service features. We collect device tokens necessary to deliver these notifications. You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

SMS/Text Messaging

Our Service allows Tournament Organizers to send SMS/text messages to participants and allows users to opt in to receive text message notifications. By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive text messages from Reel Time Apps Inc. and/or the relevant Tournament Organizer through our platform.

  • Consent: You opt in to receive text messages by checking the SMS consent checkbox during tournament registration, or by agreeing to tournament rules that include SMS notification consent. Consent is not a condition of purchase or registration.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on tournament activity. During active tournaments, you may receive multiple messages per day.
  • Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
  • Opt-out: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further texts will be sent unless you re-subscribe.
  • Help: Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at support@reeltimeapps.com.
  • Carriers: Compatible with major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely for delivering messages through our Service on behalf of you or your Tournament Organizer.

Use of Data

Reel Time Apps Inc. uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service
  • To process tournament registrations, payments, and refunds
  • To send transactional communications (registration confirmations, receipts, score updates)
  • To send SMS/text messages and push notifications you have opted into
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
  • To monitor the usage of our Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues

Sharing Data with Tournament Organizers

When you register for a tournament, your registration data (name, contact information, and any information you provide on the registration form) is shared with the Tournament Organizer for that specific tournament. Tournament Organizers are responsible for their own use of your data in accordance with their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review any privacy disclosures provided by the Tournament Organizer.

Service Providers and Sub-Processors

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Our service providers include:

  • Payment processors — PCI DSS-compliant processors designated by the Tournament Organizer to process transactions securely on their behalf
  • SMS/messaging providers — Twilio, to deliver text messages and notifications
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure — DigitalOcean, Vercel, and Cloudflare, to host and serve our applications, data, and static assets
  • Push notification services — Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), to deliver mobile push notifications
  • Email service providers — Amazon SES (AWS), to deliver transactional and service-related emails

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data Under GDPR

If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), Reel Time Apps Inc. may process your Personal Data because:

  • We need to perform a contract with you

Retention of Data

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Specific retention periods include:

  • Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for up to 90 days for backup and recovery purposes.
  • Transaction and payment records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with tax and financial reporting requirements.
  • Tournament and scoring data: Retained indefinitely as part of the historical tournament record, unless you request deletion.
  • SMS/messaging records: Message logs are retained for up to 24 months for compliance and dispute resolution.
  • Usage and analytics data: Retained in aggregate form indefinitely; individual-level data is retained for up to 26 months.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated Personal Data at any time by contacting us at support@reeltimeapps.com or through your account settings in the app. Upon receiving a verified deletion request:

  • We will delete or de-identify your Personal Data within 30 days.
  • Certain data may be retained as required by law (e.g., financial transaction records) or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).
  • Tournament scoring records may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve the integrity of historical tournament results.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure of Data

Business Transaction

If Reel Time Apps Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Disclosure for Law Enforcement

Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

“Do Not Track” Signals

We do not support Do Not Track (“DNT”). You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.

Our Service may contain links to other sites not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data directly from anyone under the age of 18. All accounts on our Service must be created by adults (18 years of age or older).

Some fishing tournaments hosted on our platform include junior angler divisions for minors. In all such cases, a parent or legal guardian has registered their child for the tournament, and the minor's information is entered into the Service either by the parent directly or by the Tournament Organizer on the parent's behalf as part of the registration process. This registration constitutes verifiable parental consent for the collection and use of the minor's data in connection with the tournament. The parent or guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us at support@reeltimeapps.com.

We do not use minor's Personal Data for marketing purposes or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to administer the tournament (i.e., sharing with the Tournament Organizer).

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date at the top. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent notice within the Service prior to the change becoming effective.
